Job Description
INTEGRATED MCIS INSTRUCTOR
XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems.
These systems are used to support Small Unit Training: Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training: Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training: Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unified Land Operations (ULO).
HOW THE INTEGRATED MCIS INSTRUCTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Plans, coordinates, and executes individual Mission Command Information Systems (MCIS) training.
Assists unit leadership in planning individual training that will meet their training objectives; identifies any gaps (resource, training, equipment, etc.
) and works with the management team to ensure they are filled prior to execution of training.
Executes other related training activities as required, such as but not limited to, Unit Task Specific Training (TST) and Train-the-Trainer efforts.
Updates Sequences of Instruction (SOI) and Local Lesson Plans (LLPs) based on Programs of Instruction (POI).
Maintains a comprehensive repository of relevant TTPs.
Performs classroom setup, networking of systems and instruction on applicable mission command systems.
Coordinates logistics for instruction events, including scheduling classes, reserving classrooms, and preparing workstations.
Classes shall consist of training on the system IAW Army standard POIs.
Provide individual instruction on MCS utilizing an integrated classroom concept where students not only learn how to operate the system under training, but how that system integrates with other MCS in building a common operational picture (COP).
Develops, organizes, and maintains a comprehensive Training Support Package (TSP) for assigned system(s) that specifies a Sequence of Instruction (SOI) and local Lesson Plan (LP) to support Home Station MCS operator, maintainer and senior leader level training.
Utilizes official system Program / Product Manager’s training products, or in the absence of a designated Program / Product Manager, utilizes the commercial software/hardware developer’s technical and training material, as the basis of the TSP development and updates the TSP on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance of training material.
Submits written recommendations for curriculum updates to ensure consistency with changes and innovations in latest applicable publications or documents.
May participate in the development and establishment of course content and objectives.
Updates course documentation as needed to ensure timeliness and relevance.
Develops, organizes, and maintains supporting instructional materials such as practical exercises, examinations (written and hands-on), student handouts, background material, instructional aids and training aids.
Administers “Check on Learning” practical exercises and course final examination.
Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
Submits reports in a timely manner to the Individual Training Branch Manager.
Monitors student survey and demographic data for completeness and accuracy.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: AA/AS in related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or training/work experience.
Experience: 2-4 years of related experience supporting military operations.
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the delivery of training programs.
Basic knowledge of relevant technology or subject matter.
Security Clearance: Current SECRET required
Desired Skills: Demonstrated effective presentation and communication
Location: Fort Drum MTC.
Normal work schedule is 0730-1630, may require night or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements
Travel: May require occasional travel (less than 10%)
