*GENERAL SUMMARY*
Samaritan’s Manager of Volunteers will supervise day-to-day operations and long-range planning for the Volunteer Services department that spans the Samaritan Health System.
Will be responsible for the recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and scheduling of volunteer workers who augment the services of the regular staff.
Provides oversight management to 3 gift shops that benefit the Samaritan Auxiliary.
This position will work closely with and this person will serve as a liaison to the Auxiliary.
Implements and monitors budget for Volunteer Services.
*QUALIFICATIONS *
* Bachelor’s degree preferred
* Must have exceptional reading, writing and verbal communication skills
* Must be self-motivated, well organized and capable of managing one’s time
*PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*

* Recruit, train, manage, motivate and retain volunteers that are placed throughout the health system.
* Work with the Samaritan team to establish needs for volunteers in their areas to complement care.
* Appropriately place volunteers based on skill sets.
* Network with area organizations and civic clubs to recruit volunteers and promote Samaritan.
* Interact with and develop professional relationships with Samaritan team and supporting organizations.
* Coordinate onsite fundraising events for the Samaritan Auxiliary.
* Provide oversight management to the 3 Samaritan Gifts shops.
* Serve as a liaison to the Samaritan Auxiliary.
* Identify areas in which the Samaritan Auxiliary can assist with patient experience enhancing initiatives.
* Manage multiple simultaneously occurring tasks and projects while aligning all efforts with our strategic mission.
* Independently take initiative and exercise good judgement and decision making.
* Work effectively under deadline pressures with a team-oriented approach.
* Practice professional maturity that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of this position.
