The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating nursing activities within the facility, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards, and taking a leadership role in the development and implementation of care plans.
The Registered Nurse LTC RN Supervisor will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal resident outcomes and maintain a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1.
Supervise and coordinate nursing activities within the long-term care facility.
2.
Assess resident needs and develop individualized care plans.
3.
Monitor and evaluate resident progress, updating care plans as necessary.
4.
Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
5.
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize resident care.
6.
Conduct regular rounds to assess resident care, address concerns, and provide support to staff.
7.
Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of resident records.
8.
Implement infection control protocols to promote a safe and healthy environment.
9.
Mentor and educate staff on best practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.
10.
Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff.
11.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care and outcomes.
12.
Respond to emergencies and provide immediate clinical interventions when necessary.
13.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nursing trends, practices, and regulatory guidelines.
14.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in interdisciplinary meetings and care conferences.
15.
Foster a cooperative and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and mutual respect.
Qualifications and Skills: 1.
Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state.
2.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing.
3.
Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
4.
Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
5.
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
6.
Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
7.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards in long-term care settings.
8.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
9.
Compassionate, patient-centered approach to resident care.
10.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with a diverse team.
11.
Flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs and organizational priorities.
12.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
13.
CPR certification required; additional certifications (ACLS, PALS) preferred.
14.
Understanding of patient rights and ethical principles in healthcare.
15.
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
