Job Title: CNA LTC (Certified Nursing Assistant - Long-Term Care)
Job Summary:
As a CNA LTC, you will be responsible for providing essential healthcare support to residents in long-term care facilities.
You will work under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses to assist with daily living activities and ensure the overall comfort and well-being of residents.
This role requires compassion, patience, and a dedication to providing high-quality care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1.
Assisting residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
2.
Monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
3.
Assisting with mobility and transfers, such as helping residents walk or use assistive devices.
4.
Providing assistance during meal times, ensuring residents receive proper nutrition and hydration.
5.
Recording and maintaining accurate documentation of residents' care and activities.
6.
Assisting with housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and organizing residents' living spaces.
7.
Responding to residents' calls and requests promptly and courteously.
8.
Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for residents.
9.
Offering emotional support and social interaction to residents, promoting their mental well-being.
10.
Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols, ensuring the environment remains clean and safe.
11.
Assisting with the implementation of therapeutic programs and activities for residents.
12.
Maintaining confidentiality and respecting the rights and dignity of residents.
13.
Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
14.
Ensuring compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
15.
Collaborating with families and providing them with updates on residents' condition and progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
1.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2.
Successful completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
3.
Active CNA license issued by the state board.
4.
Previous experience working in a long-term care setting is preferred.
5.
Knowledge of basic nursing procedures and medical terminology.
6.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7.
Compassionate and empathetic nature.
8.
Ability to handle stressful situations with calmness and professionalism.
9.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects.
10.
Good time management and organizational skills.
11.
Attention to detail for accurate documentation and reporting.
12.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
13.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
14.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.
